Merging stuck

I needed to expand the size of my VM. About 4 hours ago, I started it, and it started merging the snapshots. It said back then that step had remaining time: about 30 minutes.

Now it has remaining time about 77969 minutes.

I hate to cancel out, as I used to have two VMs until one got corrupted and I spent a few months with tech support trying to get it back (including some all-nighters). But I need Parallels to connect to my VM for my work.

So I am hoping something will happen favorably.
