I've got URL redirection enabled on the farm and on the two clients I've tried to use it on so far, but when I click on a link I get a dialog box labeled MemShell with the message "Client failed to process url redirection request". I'm trying links in emails in messages in Outlook 2007 running on my 2X server. They're on a LAN connection. What should I check first?
Hi there, What version have you got on your server and client?? Are you clicking on a URL or on a Mail ?? Nixu
I am running 6.0-416 on both client and server. The links are URL's. I have the URL redirect boxes ticked on both ends, and the Mail redirect boxes unticked on both ends. Server is 2003R2-SP2 Std. Clients I've tried are Vista SP1 and 2003R2-SP2.
Hi there, I tried it and did not mange to replicate it..... If you publish the 2X Console and click the 2x.com url in the Help About, does this still occur?? nixu
I have the same issue. It works from the 2x console help...about dialog, but not from an email within Outlook 2007. It does work from the help dialog within outlook. Here's what I did to replicate it: Created a new email message typed http://www.2x.com and hit enter CTRL+clicked on the hyperlink that it automatically created. I then get the message: MemShell Client failed to process url redirection request. Press 'Yes' if you want to procees it on the server. (Note the word "PROCEES" is misspelled in the dialog box) It doesn't process it on the server whether I click yes or no. A link with https:// opens within the server's internet explorer in my session. From within Word, I performed the same test with different results. This time it opens as though url redirection isn't enabled. It simply processes on the server. Even from MS Word help, (if you click the 'download a free trial button, for example) it processes at the server.
oh yeah, and my versions are slightly different from the previous poster. Server and client are both version 6.0 build 419
