I have installed Visa RC2 in Parallels 2.2 running under Windows XP SP2. When Visa is running, I noticed that Parallels is using 540MB of RAM. That seems unnecessary.

When I shut down or suspend the VM, that memory is not recaptured by th system. Is this normal??

Vista is a memory hog. About the memory not being cleaned up... that looks like a bug.

    bvanderw,

Do you mean virtual memory or physical memory? And what do you mean by "memory not recaptured by the system"?

I'm looking at the Mem Usage column in Windows Task Manager in the host computer. The memory use for Parallels.exe climbs to 540MB, which is way too high.

What's worse, though, is that when I close or suspend the Vista VM, the memory usage stays at 540MB!

Is it happens only with Vista guest or with XP as well?
