After loading windows and logging on to LAN, there is apparently no memory to run applications. Outlook is unresponsive, other apps flash the hourglass as if to run, then don't. Even the Task Manager will not load. I spend some time searching the forums for answers, finding none. I got back to parallels and try again, and apps will now load. I shut down completely and start again, and get the same result. At first, (it looks like no memory to start apps) = can't do anything under windows. However, machine is not hung up - I can mouse, I can click, I can select things from the start menu, but nothing happens after I select or click. Then after some short period of time (5/10 minutes), everything seems to work normally. I usually run in coherence mode but have been running in an OS window to eliminate possibility that coherence is the problem. I have been using Parallels for 2 months in this configuration - first time I've had any problem. Not aware of any new software installed. A week or two ago, changed some Internet Explorer security settings about ActiveX to make it more lenient, in response to needs of a web based application I run on a daily basis. hi, whether your guest Windows has any antivirus software? If not i strongly recomend to install it and check your system. You can use for example Kaspersky antivirus that shipped with Parallels Desktop 3.0.
Virus software already installed Tracked the problem to splitview. Turns out there were two versions of the software installed (not sure how that happened.) Uninstalled it, then reinstalled it, no problems since.
