    Hi everyone...

I use SharePoints to share a folder on my Mac called VMXP so Windows XP in parallels can see it. In Windows this folder is mapped using the address: \\MRHMacBook\VMXP

I was using shared networking under Parallels but recently switched back to Bridged so I could have my VM get a separate IP from the DHCP server.

I'm not sure if this is the cause or if it has anything to do with the recent update to 10.4.9 that I did but suddenly copying to/from this network drive is HORRIBLY slow. It used to be just like any other network drive in speed for me. But now it takes like 5 minutes to copy a 5 mb file.

Any thoughts on why the sudden slow down?

    Mark

why not use the mac menu bar >> Parallels Desktop >> Devices >> Shared Folders >> Add . . .

I get to USB, Fire wire HD and the mac desktop and the macintosh hard disk

    I don't know "share points"
is it a mac or a third party utility?

BTW I save all my windows data in this way
if an image gets damaged my data is all safely in the mac file system

keeps the images mean and lean too .-)

I haven't used the shared folders since back when they used to corrupt alot of files.

Like I said until recently this shared folder which is a normal network share was blazing fast. Now it's slow. Not sure if it's due to the 10.4.9 update or using bridged networking.

Just curious why it slowed down.
