Halfway through the installation of new Parallels 4 for Mac, I get this message: You need to manually continue the upgrade process. To continue with the upgrade, log in to your Windows virtual machine. If you have the CD autorun option enabled, the upgrade will resume automatically. Otherwise, open My Computer and run the setup.exe file located on your CD, ignoring any Windows messages. For more information on upgrading your virtual machines, visit the upgrade page on the Parallels website. I have no idea what that means but probably doesn't matter since every possible action in Parallels interface is grayed out. None of the possible sources for support mention this or could recognize my query. Help!!
Hello, Please follow these steps in order to resolve the issue: 1. Restart MAC. 2. Start Parallels Desktop Upgrade process. 3. Now, Press CTRL+Option+Command+R in the screen where the upgrade process hangs. 4. Activate Windows Later. 5. Install Parallel Tools from Virtual Machine -> Install Parallel Tools. Please also provide me the screen shot of the upgrade screen.
No prob The restart solved the problem, the upgrade process proceeded to its conclusion. I did not install the Parallel Tools because step 4 of the upgrade said it was installing the Tools. If I still need to do this, let me know but my Windows programs are working fine. Thanks for your prompt assistance.
