Make installed applications easier to find/start

I've tried several times now with the trial program to load a Windows 10 program (Turbo Tax Business) with no success. It would help if the program was more intuitive and had a menu showing programs loaded that one wants to load. I also tried it with Sony Sound Forge with the same results. The programs load but I'm unable to launch them.
