Hi folks, In Parallels (20.1.0 for ARM Mac), the settings for a macOS VM allow a non-default network connection to be used. For example, one might want to select a network where another running VM is functioning as a DHCP server, or perhaps one might want to bridge to a wired network adapter. Despite offering these options, the macOS VM never ends up communicating on these networks. No traffic is seen on the network that is selected. This can be confirmed by setting up a "host-only" network where the host isn't connected (and therefore only a VM on that same network can talk on it). Looking at Wireshark / tcpdump, not a single packet arrives from the macOS VM. Alternatively, you can select (e.g.) a wired network connection, and the macOS VM will eventually pick a self-assigned IP address because it cannot talk on the network selected. This appears to be a Parallels bug, or at least in the virtualization infrastructure that Parallels is using. If fixable, that would be ideal. Otherwise, if selecting a network isn't possible with a macOS VM, then Parallels shouldn't imply through the GUI that you can.
