I updated to Leopard (and also to BootCamp 2.0) and started to get the drive C timeout problem talked about elsewhere on this forum. I then upgraded to the beta 5540 build and started getting this error when launching Parallels: MacFUSE Version Mismtach MacFUSE has been updated but an incompatible or old version of the MacFUSE kernel extension is already loaded. It failed to unload, possibly because a MacFUSE volume is currently mounted. Please eject all MacFUSE volumes and try again, or simply restart the system for changes to take effect. I also updated the Leopard MacFUSE to 1.0.5 and unchecked the "Connected Servers" checkbox in Finder > Preferences. What else do I need to do to get this to work properly? If you need additional details, let me know, and I'll be happy to post them. Thanks. Dan
And, what does this have to do with the stable build? What was your upgrade pattern? That is, any restarts, un-installs, etc. between installs. Did you try restarting? On a side note, have you tried un-installing Parallels, un-installing MacFUSE, then re-installing?
It would be a lot simpler to just post that there's a beta forum to post things to. FWIW, Parallels was even more broken with the crappy timeout issue, which you surely know. Forget it. I'll just delete this POS and get Fusion.
Well, if you don't want any help... All but the questions but the first were constructive. Frankly, unless Fusion takes a few leaps while Parallels walks along, you'll probably find more issues over there. No, I'm not affiliated with Parallels in any way. You gotta take the point about it being in the wrong forum if you don't bother to look around first.
