I cannot seem to get Parallels Desktop 5 to install a Mac OS X Server (either 10.5 or 10.6) installation from a .iso or .cdr file.

The Guest OS is configured for the correct OS, but upon starting, the VM goes black (w/ the correct memory and finding the correct IDE/SCSI devices), but then it goes completely black and shuts down.

Am I missing something in getting these OS's installed?

    Thanks,
    Jeff

I had dmg and tried converting it to Iso and Cdr too, but it worked only after I burned the image file to the DVD-R DL using Disk Utility. And believe me, Server will work as a virtual machine very bad :(

    TonyA,

I don't doubt you, but that really seems like a bug on Parallels' part. In any case, I'll give it a shot.

    Thanks for the reply.

A follow up... Burning the .cdr to disk was the problem.

    Thanks for the help.
