Hello, I am trying to configure an LPT port for a Windows 7 guest machine. Specifically, it needs to support the ECP protocol. I am using a MacBook Pro, I think 17", running OS X 10.6.6. I am running Parallels 6, version 6.0.12090. My machine does not have an LPT port on it by default. From my research, it appears there is no general use USB to LPT device out there for non-printer applications. So, I am using an ExpressCard adapter that provides such a port. The particular card I am hoping to use is a StarTech EC1PECPS ( http://www.startech.com/product/EC1PECPS-1-Port-PCI-Express-Base-Parallel-ExpressCard ). It does not have drivers for Mac OSX, and I have been unable to find any made anywhere else for its chipset (OXPCIe840, for what it is worth). I know Parallels can use some ExpressCard peripherals (particularly the EVDO cards), so I am hoping to make this work. How can I get Parallels to see my ExpressCard34 port and its contents? If I have posted in the wrong forum, my apologies, please provide a link to the correct forum and I will re-post.
