I have lost my "Use Mac Printer" from my XP printer folder in Parallels. I installed an Epson SX425W on my MacBook Pro without any difficulty. However I did the same installation on the XP virtual machine and it couldn't find the wireless printer. I searched this Forum and discovered that I shouldn't have installed from the CD so I uninstalled the printer from XP, the result was that both the SX425W and the "Use Mac Printer" disappeared and they are not in the Trash or Recycle Bin. Can someone please help me get it back and help me configure it to print to the Epson SX425W on my MacBook Pro. OSX 10.6.8 Parallels 6
I have resolved this problem as follows. Open The Virtual Machines Configuration page and select Hardware. On the Hardware page, from the list click on Printer Port 1, then on the same page, in the Source options select Default Printer. Close Configurations. Now open the Windows XP Printer & Faxes Folder, and in the Printer Tasks, select Add a printer. The Welcome to the Add Printer Wizard opens and select Next>. Local or Network Printers, Now choose Local printer attached to this computer and Next>. Select a Printer Port, Now choose Use the following port, and selection LTP1(Recommended Printer Port) and Next>. Install Printer Software, Now from the list of Manufacturers select Apple, and from the List of Printers select Apple Color LW 12/660 PS and Next>. Name Your Printer, Now in the Printer name box will be Apple Color LW 12/600 PS, in the options, Do you want to use this printer as the default printer?, choose Yes and Next>. Printer Sharing , Share name will show AppleColor and Next>. Location and Comments, You can fill this in of you want, I put Windows XP in the Location and Next>. Print Test Page. I chose No and Next>. Completing the Add Printer Wizard, You have successfully completed the Add Printer Wizard, You specified the following printer settings, there will be a list of the printer, and Finish. The Wizard will close. In the Printers and Faxes Folder will be an Apple Color LW 12/600 PS printer with a default tick. I gave a right click on it and from the list chose Use Printer Online, then in Properties on the Gereral Tab chose Print Test Page. A few seconds later, I thought it wasn't working, a box opened saying a test page was being sent to the printer OK or Troubleshoot, then the printer working, what a relief.
