    Hi,

I have a blog but I get this error on my dashboard:

RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Couldn't resolve host 'wordpress.org'

The problem is that wordpress can't make outgoing connections while this is Allowed in the firewall setting of my plesk 9.5.2 panel.

My host provider told me to disable the outgoing connections in the firewall setting, then activate it and then put it back on and activate it again. After that I have to start PuTTY, put my id-address in it, click open, sign in with login and password and then put the following codes:

    /etc/init.d/psa stop
    Then:
    /etc/init.d/psa start

This works fine, but the only problem is that the next day or so I get again the RSS Error in wordpress. So this means this is just a short term solution for it.

Does anyone knows a longterm/permanent solution for this? I would really appreciate this. A lot of threads on the internet discuss this issue, but I don't see any permanent solutions for this.
