Long Installation

I am using Parallels Desktop 8 to install Windows Vista, but it's not working. Whenever I start the Virtual Machine, it requires me to press a key when I start, and if I don't, Windows fails to start. When I do press a key, Windows starts, but it says I am installing it. And then, it gets stuck on the "Completing Installation..." tab. I even tried keeping it there overnight, and it still doesn't work.

If I still can't install Windows Vista, I might try to install Windows 7. Would this be the type of installation disk I would need to install Windows 7 with Parallels Desktop 8?
