Take the leading dot off the lock file to make it visible in the Finder. This will make it much easier to tell people how to solve the lock problem. Putting the continue choice back in the dialog would be a good thing too. I can't imagine very many people aren't going to know when another instance is running. In fact, the Parallels kernel code knows (or could easily know) when an instance is running, and if the instance that is attempting to start is the only one, then the only possible conflict would be an app instance on another machine. The source machine could be recorded in the lock file, and if the lock applies to the machine that is attempting the launch and that machine isn't running another instance of the app, starting is safe. This will probably cover the vast majority of cases where a lock file exists on attempted startup.
