Some older operating systems and games grab all the CPU cycles they can get, even if they clearly don't need them. Therefore I frequently have some old software pushing my MBP to 100% CPU usage, which hurts battery life badly. Being able to limit the virtual processor to a few hundred MHz would be really great.
