the problem has moved on, unfortunately. My host is now unable to connect to the internet. I suspect that this is due to the bridging issue. Using a home drive backup made before the changes we made to solve this problem, I can connect OK with all the same hardware. I have tried disabling P6 network but my host is now blind to the internet. pete
