Ever since I upgraded to Leopard my Parallels has been very unstable. XP is hit or miss when shutting down. It sits at the "Windows is Shutting Down..." screen. A reminder of Windows 98. I have Tiger running and there are never any issues. Only when I upgrade. I read the other thread but that talked about this but it got off track. Someone had mentioned there was going to be an update but I never saw anything about it. Any updates coming on this?
Even though still with some problems, the Parallels beta version for Leopard is IMHO, a better choice for the moment if you're running Leopard. http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=17602
