No related issue using version 3 but since upgrading I get regular, lengthy pauses where the application appears like it is hanging or frozen except that it will come back to life after 5-10 minutes. This action is usually associated with starting up an application or other action. Very frustrating. Works well when it works but the interruptions are annoying. On occasion (but not recently) I get a dialog indicating that a server (host machine?) is being searched for. I'm not sure if this is part of the issue (and I haven't changed anything since v3).

I searched for other threads about hanging but most seemed unrelated, sorry if this is a common topic. A known solution would still be welcome!

    Thanks

Disable sharing of All Mac disks to Windows XP. If you have a machine with 2 cores set the number of cores available to the VM to just one, meaning, don't assign all cores to the VM no matter how many cores you have, always leave at least one out.

It seems the culprit is the Parallels Internet Security Powered by Kaspersky. I disabled it and so far the problem has not resurfaced. Not an exhaustive test (only a few hours) but have have not been able to recreate the issue despite attempts to recreate problem scenarios. And it is something new since the version 3 configuration.

You probably have another antivirus and/or firewall software running in Windows?
