I have a recurring problem that is absolutely maddening. It happens infrequently - but when it does, it renders my mac unusable when I launch my Windows 10 virtual environment. I have scoured the forums for answers but nothing seems to help. I am running Parallels 16 - but this has been an issue for many releases I have upgraded about 4 times - so it is not a P16 issue. I have a 2016 MBP with 16GB RAM and 1TB HDD with plenty of space. Performance is absolutely fine (when it is working). I am using most settings at the default - graphics memory auto - 2 processor cores (out of 4) - 8GB ram (out of 16). So here is the issue. I have rebooted my Mac - no applications running - computer nice and responsive. I launch Parallels - everything OK - but as soon as I launch my windows 10 professional virtual PC - the performance of my mac gets hit. Even the mouse moves across the screen with a 10 second delay. If I push down on my magic track pad - no click - all kicks eventually fire in quick succession about 20 seconds later. I cannot force quit parallels or do anything. Have to hard reset. I mean how can an application impact the working of the trackpad when in the finder!? I sometimes leave it overnight, and in the morning, it is responsive and working fine - but at any time without warning the problem kicks in again. The only way I seem to resolve this is to create a new windows 10 partition - and then it works maybe for 6 months before it all kicks in again. I have performed a scan with Disk Utility - no issues with my drive. I really don't want to have to start again with a new Windows 10 partition knowing it will just happen again. Any help would be appreciated.
