Keyboard Shortcuts in Win7 - disables typing in VM

I am using Parallel's 4.0.3848, running Windows 7 in boot camp VM.

While typing in Microsoft Word, all of a sudden the E button no longer works and launches an Explorer Window. I then tried to type a little more and before i know it, my VM is locked at the windows splash screen, and since the letter L is in my password, I cannot log back in to save my work.

Is there some kind of key combination that launches these shortcuts, not allowing me to type in the VM? And if so, how do I reverse this without restarting the VM?
