I keep on getting Kernel Panics when using Parallels. Hope this helps someone at parallels - because when it works it is a great product! Well, it does look like you have some problems with your Hardware Memory. >> Uncorrectable Fbd memory error detected. ferr = 20000000 , nerr == 00000000, fErrFat = 20000000 nErrFat == 00000000 Be careful, sometimes memory issues are difficult to track - but this one does look like one of them.
I've run into that on my server... I am about to identify which DIMMs are bad. If you want to confirm anything run a memtest.
Ran memtest which looks fine - any more ideas? Memtest looks fine for me - the other thing is I only seem to getr these errors when using parallels. This could be conjecture, as I was previously running parallels 80% of the time. Any other ideas I can check? Same problem I've been having the same problems with MacPro 2.66mhz 2gb memory. Seems problem is related to accessing anything on the network. Not an issue accessing internet. I've sent info to Parallels but no response and nothing else posted. Just curious to see if your's is also related to networking.
Please post your panic.log here. And, as your KP seems network-related, please look at this post: http://forum.parallels.com/post52619-5.html

you can test your RAM using Rember http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/24508 Be sure to tick the box to close all programs and include closing finder too.. I found it best to run after a full reboot. Had a user in my office getting Kernel Panics on a frequent basis and it turned out to be the 3rd party (Kingston) ram module that was installed in his machine. He was sure it was parallels that was causing it, but Rember proved him wrong. One replaced memory module later and hes all back and running.
OK - bit of an update - Parallels and memory problem Ok, after futher investigation, both conlsusions are correct. I had bad memory and there is a stability problem with Parallels. The new ram I had recently purchased did have an issue, but memory checks such as memetest are not much use (I ran memtest for around 8 hours), this is because the macpro has ECC memory (which corrects itself in most cases). The only place you can find out if you ECC memory is getting errors is in the System Profiler, this reports the errors. After removing this memory and running the system for 2 days straight (I had around 20 applications running and no free memory but not with parallels), my system had no issues. But... then I started parallels, first time I started it, I recieved a Kernel panic straight away for my troubles! Second time, I managed to run parallels for around 8 hours before my system ground to a halt with a spinning beach ball of death (So had to manually power off the system) So, what do I do now? I love parallels, just not very happy with teh stability of it. What can i do to help to get this problem resolved. Dave
OK, I've had my first Parallels kernel panic after months of usage. I'm running Build 3188 on an iMac 20 2.16 GHz C2D with 2GB RAM. Today, exactly when I clicked on the "resume" button of a WinXP virtual machine, I got this kernel panic: -------------- Sun Apr 15 10:36:27 2007 panic(cpu 1 caller 0x001A429B): Unresolved kernel trap (CPU 1, Type 27=Unknown), registers: CR0: 0x8001003b, CR2: 0x5db78000, CR3: 0x0175a000, CR4: 0x000006e0 EAX: 0x00000001, EBX: 0x6d626572, ECX: 0x00000000, EDX: 0x00000000 CR2: 0x5db78000, EBP: 0x25be3978, ESI: 0x6d616769, EDI: 0x63216e75 EFL: 0x00000246, EIP: 0x59ecd7b2, CS: 0x00000008, DS: 0x00000010 Backtrace, Format - Frame : Return Address (4 potential args on stack) 0x25be36e8 : 0x128d08 (0x3cb134 0x25be370c 0x131de5 0x0) 0x25be3728 : 0x1a429b (0x3d0e4c 0x1 0x1b 0x3ca5fc) 0x25be3838 : 0x19ada4 (0x25be3850 0x59f562c1 0xffffffff 0x10) 0x25be3978 : 0x59eccce9 (0x3e6b0000 0x44e8c04 0x72dba84 0x25be3eb8) 0x25be3aa8 : 0x3e374dc7 (0x3e6b0000 0x0 0x0 0x3e373244) 0x25be3b18 : 0x3e375054 (0x72dba84 0x25be3eb8 0x200000 0x199193) 0x25be3bd8 : 0x3e375862 (0x72dba84 0x25be3eb8 0x18 0x0) 0x25be3d38 : 0x3e3728c7 (0x72dba84 0xc0185401 0x25be3eb8 0x19e23a) 0x25be3d68 : 0x1f05d7 (0xd000000 0xc0185401 0x25be3eb8 0x81) 0x25be3da8 : 0x1e7411 (0x25be3dd0 0x297 0x25be3e08 0x6f767d0) 0x25be3e08 : 0x1df212 (0x5749dec 0xc0185401 0x25be3eb8 0x81) 0x25be3e58 : 0x331c4c (0x50fa580 0xc0185401 0x25be3eb8 0x6f767d0) 0x25be3e88 : 0x34ffa8 (0x50fa580 0xc0185401 0x25be3eb8 0x6f767d0) 0x25be3f58 : 0x379e23 (0x6f767d0 0x7028970 0x70289b4 0x0) 0x25be3fc8 : 0x19b17e (0x5b5cb60 0x0 0x10 0x5b5cb60) No mapping exists for frame pointer Backtrace terminated-invalid frame pointer 0xbfffe038 Kernel loadable modules in backtrace (with dependencies): com.parallels.kext.vmmain(2.2)@0x3e371000 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 8.9.1: Thu Feb 22 20:55:00 PST 2007; root:xnu-792.18.15~1/RELEASE_I386 -------------- As I've never had this before, and the error seems to come from "com.parallels.kext.vmmain", I've started thinking what has changed from last time I used Parallels. And there's exactly one difference: I have installed "Little Snitch" on OS X. Could this be a kernel panic cause? I have been unable to reproduce the error so far, but I suspect this could be the problem. Would it make sense to submit this to Parallels support? For the others having kernel panics, are you running Little Snitch? Does disabling it help?

I am having the same problems on my 17" Core 2 Duo. Simply launching Desktop causes a kernel panic / crash! Infuriating, to say the least! All my memory is Apple-supplied. Never had any problems like this before with any other apps.
