Can someone please help bout this helpless noob here?

Recently installed Windows Xp thru parallels 5.0 on my Macbook Pro.

ever since games requiring images files (DMG, ISO) to boot has stopped working after many installs and reinstalls,

but most annoying thing is every time i shutdown parallels (Win XP) the program closes and my DVD player starts to play.

    PLEASE HELP.

That's normal. The reason is that when you bind your CD / DVD drive to the VM, it is "uncoupled" from the Mac. When you then quit Parallels, it is as if you were connecting it to the Mac again, and the disk is mounted (which causes the drive to spin up and read the disk). If you want to avoid that, just eject the disk prior to quitting Parallels.
