I run Win 8.1 Po under Parallels Desktop 10 and try to install Java SE Runtime Environment. No matter what version I want to install (7, 8, 32bit, 64bit) the JRE installation process does not succeed. During JRE 8 installation a second window pops up saying that jp2launcher.exe is also using java and the installer therefore cannot deploy files. The only way to go on is to accept to stop jp2launcher.exe which results in an error message that JRE didn't install properly (error 1603). In the meantime the installer extracted a bunch of files to the programs folder and even the java control applet shows up but there is no uninstall entry. The JRE 7 installer just quits with an error but the effects are quite similar. If I do the same an Win 7 Pro VM under PD10 the java installation succeed flawlessly. Anybody out there with some good ideas on this issue?
