Intermittent Sound Distortion

    A few days ago, I started getting intermittent sound distortion when playing back midi and mp3 files in Windows applications. The same files played fine before and playback OK in Mac applications (I need to use these files in specific Windows applications). Can't think of any change I made that could have triggered this.

    Any ideas on how to solve this?
