Hope someone can help me here. I followed the instructions found in the Quick Start Guide and was able to install Parallels Desktop for Mac. When I went to install XP, I accidentally cancelled during the install process. Now when I go to install XP it tells me this NTLRD is missing... PRESS CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart For some reason I am not able to push that sequence to let me restart. I'm operating on an iMac and my version of Parallels in that 1940 build. TIA!
If you are just starting out, I'd download either 1970 (official build) or 3170 (RC3), delete the VM and start over. Steve
Agree with strells. Also, I suggest you install XP Pro in Boot Camp first, make sure it is working fine, apply all the Windows updates, install all the programs you wants to run and make sure they get the latest updates applied as well, and use Winclone to make a backup of the Boot Camp partition. Then, download and install Parallels RC3 and creat a VM by pointing to the Boot Camp partition. This way, if your app doesn't work well in Parallels, you can always fall back to Boot Camp.
