Hello, I have a little question... I think you'll answer it easily, but for me it is important question... When I'm installing the windows and choose the part of the disk (which is 65000 mb of available space) program asks me to format the disk in two ways... - Will this format delete my files on mac??? Sorry, I'm from Russia and maybe my mind isn't explained rightly... if so please said to me for more detail explain...
Parallels Desktop VMs work with virtual disks that are just files on Mac hard drive. When Windows formats the VM virtual disk no data is lost on a Mac. Wouldn't it be silly otherwise? By the way, why don't you use express Windows installation mode that PD offers? It would have saved you a few minutes and a couple neurons.
thank you for your answer. I really thought so that it will be silly otherwise, but it better to ask someone who better knows this. But I didn't completly understand that phrase: "virtual disks that are just files on Mac"... can you explain? You mean that there are some files on the computer which are these virtual disks? what about the place of the disk for installing? Need I put it lesser? And by the way - where I can find this express windows? I didn't find it in my fast "greatings" with this program... I think that it will be really easier!
Hi DmitriiK, Parallels Desktop virtual machines are in fact folders, or better, bundles on Mac's hard drive. However, virtual hard disk behave like regulard hard drives. Please find more info to this and to Express Windows installation in Parallels Desktop for Mac User Guide: http://download.parallels.com/desktop/v5/docs/ru/Parallels_Desktop_Users_Guide/29738.htm (link to Russian documentation set for your convenience).
Thanks for your help! Now I have another question - how can I through this installed windows I can browse through the files in Mac?
