I installed evaluation vertion of Parallels on a PC; host os WinXP Pro. No problems so far. Tried to install Win98 as guest. At the third attempt, and this time using image of set-up files on virtual HD, I got as far as 98% of instalation when crash. The same error as on the previous two attempts, only a little futher into the installation. Error message reads,
SUWIN General Protection Fault modual<unknown>04F:02D3@HSUWIN ??? Cannot find any help with this message. Anyone any ideas? anyone managed to install a Win o/s on a PC? Compared with Microsoft's VirtualPC (sorry for foul launage)this program is a nightmare. I'm just gratefull it's the evaluation version. At least I hav'nt wasted any money, just a lot of time. Still, it would be nice to know if it could work given the higher price of VMware.

    Hello Coastal,

Please set Acceleration level to Normal in Configuration Editor - Options – VM Flags and disable virtualization support. Removing all devices, such as Sound, USB etc. is also advisable. Try installing Windows after that.

    Best regards,
