    Hello J.C.LECALL,

The file downloaded after purchasing Microsoft Windows 8 will be in .EXE format.

Your Mac will not able to detect the files in .EXE format. You must either have a DVD or you need to have an .ISO image file for Windows 8 to install it on

your Parallels Desktop. If you do not have an .ISO image file, please contact Microsoft and get an .ISO image file and then follow the steps as suggested at

http://kb.parallels.com/4729 This will help you to install Windows 8 on your Parallels Desktop.

    Thanks for your help.

Yesterday was a nightmare working with Microsoft tech support. Passed 7 1/2hours on the telephone. First they did not have the download for ISO 8.1. They told me to try 8.0 but I had a key for 8.1. Spoke with 4 techs, not one of them said the same thing. Twice, we got cutoff, I suspect they hung up on me. Had to download to my old PC with XP, they said that was OK. One even told me I should be calling Apple. Finally asked for a supervisor, he tried and it did not work. Finally they said that I could not download to an XP machine. There only suggestions order a DVD. But they were out of stock yesterday! Told me to call back today, still out of stock, try again in a couple of days. Makes one want to change from Microsoft to Apple.
