    Hi,

I recently bought Parallels for Windows.

I have installed Ubuntu by using a ISO image. So I went into CD/DVD-ROM options and changed the emulation to image and saved

I start the VM and all is fine. Ubuntu installs

But when I close it and stop the VM.
Then start it again it reinstalls Ubuntu again.

After install I have tried to set the CD/DVD-ROM back to the "real CD/DVD" option but when it starts the VM it says it cant find the guest OS.

    Am I missing something here?

Also when I run ubuntu I cannot get the CD/DVD to work in Ubuntu. Is this related to the problem above??

By the way when Ubuntu runs it is great in the VM.

Ubuntu is a "live CD" which means it boots without installing to an HD. It sounds like what you are thinking is the install is actually just the live boot. Did you run the installer from the Live desktop? Or at the very beginning of the boot process from the ISO image, did you type "install" instead of letting it default to booting up as a live CD?
