    Hi there,

Have an HP DeskJet printer attached to my iMac running Parallels 5584 (Leopard 10.5.2). All is fine there.

Added a MacBook Pro, printer fine on Mac side. Installed Parallels 5584 on MBP (same Leopard). The iMac is attached to the wireless router and these are on all the time.

Now, I installed Bonjour on MBP. I run into problems when I install printer. First, Bonjour sees the network HP printer; however when I select the printer and click Next I get the error message "The Bonjour printer you have selected is no longer available. Please make sure the printer is plugged in and powered on." Well, the printer is plugged in and powered on. Then I get another message that says "You do not have sufficient access to your computer to connect to the selected printer."

What is it that I need to do to connect to the iMac's Deskjet from the MBP?

    Thank you in advance.

    Lynn

    Hi again,

Well, I'm still having problems here; however, I found the article relating to the last part of the problem and discovered one setting had to be changed which I've done. I am still not able to print from WinXP to my iMac. I also had tried to install the HP software but that install had failed. Should I be looking for residual files to remove and how is this done? The HP software does not show up in the Add/Remove Programs list and I haven't found an HP folder anywhere but it could be in a hidden folder.

I really need to be able to print from XP so any help much appreciated. Thanks again!

    Hello Lynn,

Did you try to use Parallel Port? Please have a look at this article.

You'd better remove HP drivers from Windows. You can do it through Device Manager (Control Panel -> system -> Hardware).

    Best regards,
