ok so i have seen posts about this. this was like a year a go or so but know sdxc cards have now increased and improved in performance. i have seen one sdxc card go to 105 MB/s minimum speed and i know 3.0 USB is 110 MB/s sustained speeds. so my question is if anyone actually have tried doing it on an sd card?? im running parallels desktop from my passport wd 3.0 usb formated ex-FAT. let me know guys what u think.
Let me guess as to why no one replied, here are some possible reasons for your consideration: * You are not running Parallels from your passport external drive, you are running a virtual machine saved in it. * You don't install Parallels on an external drive, Parallels is an application that must reside in the computer executing OS X * What you can install on an external drive is the Virtual Machine, (.pvm) and in that case doesn't matter what type of external drive it is. * An sdxc card is not made to have the write frequency an OS requires, it would likely go to the trash after some months.
