I was a registered owner of Parallels 4 and have my activation/security code. I didn't install it on my new MacBook Pro. I just purchased the Parallels 6 upgrade and plan to install it on the laptop. Do I need to physically install Parallels 4 first or can I simply install the Parallels 6 I downloaded after purchasing the upgrade and enter the codes?

    Support? Who needs stinkin' support?

I decided since no one from Parallels support was going to reply to my post, I would go ahead and experiment. I installed Windows 7 into Bootcamp, then installed the Parallels 6 Upgrade without first installing the original Parallels 4. Parallels 6 activation asked for my previous serial and the new one, then activated.

A note about the registration window. I started to register but forgot to answer the question about why I bought Parallels. (I'm asking that myself now, haha.) Instead of giving me the opportunity to continue, the wise programmer in charge of the resulting dialog box offers only two options - Never Register or Register Later (the latter meaning you have to start over). No going back to answer that one question. Since there seems to be little incentive to register, why would I start over?
