I'm having a problem with installing MS DOS 6.22

I've an external USB floppy drive connected to my iMac 24".
Inserted the Setup floppy into the drive, and confirmed files via Finder.
Started Parallels and connected the floppy drive.
Reboot the VM, the screen displayed "Boot from floppy drive..., Non-System disk or disk error".
Reset the VM, the screen still display the above error.

I've tested the Setup floppy on a PC and it was working.

Could you please help me to resolve this problem?

Parallels won't boot from a USB floppy drive. Make a disk image of the floppy contents and boot from that. You may have to download a bootable disk image, attach it and copy files into it. I believe DOS images are available on the net, but if not, FREEDOS is available.e

Since I haven't actually tried this, that's all the help I can give you at the moment.

Could I ask if this thread was in respect of trying to create a seperate VM of DOS or trying to install DOS on an existing VM. I have one VM only and that is Windows XP and I cannot install DOS on it, nor can I install DOS 6.2 on the beta partition of Windows XP on my dual core Intel Mac.

I have not tried to create a seperate DOS partition.
