Installation question

I have received the CD of PD6 and was all set to install it when I read of some problems. Now I see that there is a new build that should solve at least some of those problems. So here's my question: do I install from the CD and immediately update? Or can I simply install from the downloaded new build, using the activation key I received with the CD?

Download the new build and use the activation key that came with the CD.
