I have just installed Parallels and also began installation ofWindows XP. During the XP install, however, I realized that I used the wrong Windows disk and I don't have the necesary code to activate it. I do, however, have another XP disk with code. How do I uninstall the XP on my machine in order to load the correct disk? Many thanks.
The easiest way is to just find the .hdd file and delete it. Make a new .hdd file and start the set-up again.
Is this the same as uninstalling Parallels and starting over? Or is it creating a new VM with new OS? Thanks.
It is not the same as un-installing Parallels. It just wipes all records of the failed install attempt of your VM. All the data for your VM is stored somewhere, either A. in a BootCamp partition, or B. in a .hdd file. All you should have to do now is try again... Your config file should be there, just without a virtual hard drive.
