Install error on Ubuntu 10.10 host

    That's because Ubuntu 10 is not supported. It is even mentioned right in the "Getting Started" documentation. I suggest all Ubuntu 10 users to write to Parallels like I did requesting an updated version that supports the latest versions of Ubuntu and other popular Linux distro's.
