Inserting DVD only seen in Windows?

    Whenever I insert a DVD, it is only recognised in Windows not on the Mac side.
    Is there a way of getting a prompt like for USB devices to ask which OS to use?

    I've deselected 'Connected' in the CD/DVD device options and that seems to work. Is that the correct method?
