I'm having problems trying to import this virtual machine from work where I'm forced to use VMWare. I'd like to import it into my Parallels setup at home on my MacBook Pro so that I can have my "work" PC with me wherever I am with its roaming profile. However, Transporter will not recognize the Virtual Machine from VMWare when I attempt to import or open it. The root folder is Windows XP Professional.vmwarevm and inside there are 8 .vmdk files. There isn't a .vmx file in there. Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue. I can't import this new version of Fusion either. When I try to use the Open feature, it won't recognize the file format .vmwarevm

    Totally Frustrated?

I am totally frustrated with Transporter. It simply DOES NOT WORK as advertised.

    1) The Parallels website was making me think I could just open the VMWare virtual machine and import it into Parallels. This seems to work only with an ancient VMWare 2 virtual machine, not the VMWare 3 ones. The VMWare 3 virtual machines are bundles with ".vmwarevm" extensions, and Parallels does not recognize them.

    2) The Transporter agent does not want to install on my Windows XP.

    3) The new Transporter in the "appstore" is not indicating it would solve the problem either, and it costs $5 just to try. No thanks.

So I am essentially stuck reinstalling everything from scratch? Not quite the ease of switching that was advertised.
