Within the past 2 weeks I completely erased/formatted by iMac, reloaded the OS and I'm at Yosemite 10.10.1. Yesterday I set up Windows 7 and loaded Quicken 2013 and Mac Office 10(?) all through Boot Camp. Everything seemed to work OK. System is a 24" iMac (early 2009 version), 8GB RAM and 1 TB hard drive. (Over 60% free space). This morning I tried loading Parallels 10 and just as I've had with previous versions of Parallels, I'm having problems. System "hung up" at what looks like 20% during the set up process and just sat there -- for almost 30 minutes. I forced a restart and tried to delete every part of the program. Was apparently successful except I still have a Parallels Desktop icon in my applications folder and cannot delete it. So I'm unsure what to do next. This is almost the same problem I had with Parallels version 7 or 8 and iMac OS Mountain Lion (10.6.8). I want to delete the icon. When this occurred with the prior version I ended up with two Parallels Desktop icons and I want to avoid that. Of course I also want to reload Parallels 10 that I just spent money purchasing. Starting Boot Camp loads Windows 7 normally and both programs seem to work fine. I'm looking to setup Parallels to use the existing Boot Camp and the two programs already installed. Ideas/suggestion and whatever would be GREATLY appreciated!!! In advance, thanks!!
