See attached screenshot. Every time I start up WinXP under Parallels (it's a bootcamp WinXP installation), I see this message as an overlay. Does this happen to anyone else? Is this expected behavior?
Hi slimemold, This is expected behavior when you are booting from Boot Camp. Since Parallels changes hardware configuration on Boot Camp between real host hardware (to boot from BC without Parallels) and virtual VM hardware (to boot in Parallels), it is highly recommended not to power off virtual machine during VM boot. This message is always remind user to be carefull
Awesome. Thanks for the answer, Andrew This is the only thing that's been bugging me since the 3188 upgrade. Everything's working fine for me.
Yes, I get that overlay message, but it never goes away and XP is frozen at the logon screen. After about 10-15 minutes I force quit Parallels and now I have no usable bootcamp partition. Bummer! Using 3188 by the way.
