I've installed Parallels succesfully, on a MacBook Pro. I had difficulty installing Windows 2000 OS after the Paralles install. Talking with the Parallels team, I was told that the copy I bought from the Apple store was obsolete, and needed to use the 1970 version that is downloadable from the website.

I did that but stil have the same issue. the message screen I get :

    Windows 2000 Professional Setup
    ============================
Setup has determined that your computer's startup hard disk is new or has been
erased, or that your computer is running an operating system that is incompatible with
    Windows 2000.

If the hard disk is new or has been erase, or if you want ot discard its current contents,
you can choose to continue Setup.

If your computer is running an operating sytem that is incompatible with Windows 2000,
continuing Setup may damage or destroy the existing operating sytem.

    * To continue Setup, Press C.
CAUTION: Any data currently on your computers startup hard disk will be lost.
    * to Quit Setup, press F3.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS ON WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? Parallels documentation on this is non-existant, and I need to get this installed, lest I have a "boat-anchor" piece of software.

Appreciate any help either by calling me 860-747-7136 or email to
    [email protected]

    many thanks in advance

    Charlie

This is a Windows instllation issue, and not a Parallels Desktop issue.

Parallels virtual hard disk's are blank by default. You can press C to continue. You will need to create a new partition and contiue to install to that partition.

The best part is if you mess up, you can just delete the virtual machine and start over.

Since this is the forum for windows and linux, you may have a better response by putting your question in the mac forum!
