I have a MacPro dual 2.6 with 2GB RAM. Everthing was working well until I installed 10.4.8, the firmware update, and RC2. When I initially boot up my computer, everything is working well, but the instant I start Parallels RC2, most of my USB busses shut down with the exception of my keyboard and printer. I have a Logitech S530 wireless desktop for Mac. The keyboard continues to work, but the mouse stops and I have to plug in my wired mouse. Only a reboot will allow me to use my USB devices again under Mac OS. Things I am doing when this happens... iPhoto open Safari open Mail open EyeTV open Missing sync for pocket PC open, but not listening for devices iTunes 7.0.1 open Virtues Desktop running What I was trying to do was sync my pocket PC smart phone to MacOS via missing sync, then sync with Windows to get my Quicken stuff on my phone. I've tried it several times
since updating to 10.4.8, I'm not able to print to my HP OfficeJet v40. have you tried contacting Apple/Microsoft/Parallels? this type of issue, to me, will spell whether emulators like Parallels can really become mainstream - how well they respond when the issue could be apple or it could be microsoft, and neither company is likely to care about the problems caused by necessary upgrades.... Wondering if I can deal with the hassle.
I had the same problem with my S530 desktop before using parallels. I then upgraded to 10.4.8 and missing sync 5.1.1 and now I do not have the problem. I just tried everything you listed and everything on my system works fine. I am using missing sync for palm with a Treo 700p. Try just unplugging and replugging the RF receiver into the USB port and then see if you get the mouse working again. I used to do this when I had my problem. I would sync my Treo and loose the S530 communications. I do not think Parallels has anything to do with your problem. I had this problem like I said before I was even using Paralles. Logitech is no help, they just said I could RMA the product for a refund. Edit: I do not have Eye TV though.
