I have a Dell 8215 multi-function printer that I tried to install using the USB. That didn't work. I tried with Bonjour, and it is not a supported printer. Should I wait for the new build with support of USB2 or try putting building some sort of LAN? My laptop is connected by 802.11 to a wireless router for use with my DSL modem.

Right now I can print through the MAC OS, but I really want my scanner on the PC where my OCR aps are.

I bought a telephone consult with parallels, but they are not returning tech calls. I am running build 1790 with the 10.4.8 OS and Windows XP. Last questions... will the new build support hubs and scanners as well as printers? Thanks

Check the small print of your contract, then check again. If your certain that you are not getting what you have paid for then demand your money back.

Have you tried sharing the printer from mac osx? Make sure the firewall has holes to allow local network traffic to reach your windows VM.

Thanks, I tried by setting the printer sharing in Mac OS. The network setting for the Mac shows the parallels NAT. Do you know what else I need to do to enable the sharing. I don't see any fire-wall settings that might casue the problem.

    I really appreciate your response

In the firewall on the Mac side, is windows file sharing allowed to passthrough? If so, all you need to do on the windows side is to open network neighborhood>windows network>workgroup>mac computer>shares&printers. Just find the printer and double-click it. Windows will pull the drivers for it or prompt you for them if it doesn't have the correct driver in its database. It really is as simple as that.

Edit: I forgot to mention one more thing: you might have to provide your mac username and password to access the printer.

I must be missing something. I went into the Windows Side and did the network setup wizzard using mac as the netwrok name. I enable print sharing.

I went to the Mac side sharing preferences and enabled the print sharing. When I do the add network printer, I see the workgroup>mac, but I don't see the printers on the Mac. Under the workgroup>mac, I see my name, but not the list of printers on the MAC.

Do I need to go to the Mac preferences and setup the Parallels IP address or anything else? Thanks
