Ok I left a support note over 2 weeks ago and sent 3 emails and still no reply. Can someone please tell me how to setup this thing to sign online from windowsXP ?? I loved virtualPC when my Mac was online so was my windowsXP without the need to install this hardware and that hardware. James
Hey James, Just to be clear, are you saying that you don't have internet access and you can't get online from within Windows? Also you talk of installing hardware....what are you referring to? When set up correctly (barring any unknown variables), Parallels allows full internet and network access to the Windows OS, the same as the Mac.
It dont allow me to signon from windows, when I do it always gives me some kind of connection error and says my modem is not attached but yet my modem is and I used the "add hardware" function to add the USB Apple Modem. Now I get some error about the drivers. So how do I get the drivers to get this thing working to sign online ?? Also any plans for this thing to work like VirtualPC when signed online with Mac you are also signed online with windows at the same time. James
James, In the Parallels configuration editor, make sure you have "Shared Networking" chosen, not Bridged , or Host Only. Also, on the Mac side, open System preferences>Network and make sure that the "Parallels NAT" is enabled, has a green light, and has an IP address assigned to it. It should be something like 10.55.211.X. If not, repair disk permissions on the Mac HDD and restart the Mac. Also, I believe you need to begin a dial up session on the Mac before you try getting online in Windows. In Windows, go to a command prompt (console window) and type "ipconfig", then enter. The IP address should be the same as you saw in Mac system preferences with the exception of the very last number.
