A couple days ago I installed a trial version of Parallels on a MacBook Pro that has an up to date operating system, made a Windows 10 Technical Preview virtual machine, and installed Office 2013 in the VM. I was able to set XLS, DOC, and DOCX files in OS X to automatically open by default in Office 2013 Excel and Word. However, I won't be the main user of this laptop. The main user might have trouble doing the things I did to change the default opener. Rather than set the default opener for all Office related files one by one is there a way to set Office as the default program for all Office related files at once?
Helo Rwom, Yes, you need to cange the settings for the default aplication, please follow the steps suggested at http://kb.parallels.com/114124 to open .doc (.xml, .docx, .xmlx) or similar file located on the Mac side with Windows application.
