I own almost all the Sims 2 series, and I thought it would be great to play my Windows-based Sims 2 games on my new MacBook. I have it all installed. Only problem is, when I launch the game, this message comes up: "The Sims 2 cannot find any DirectX 9.0 compatible graphics cards! Please check your graphic card drivers and your DirectX version." What does this mean? Can I fix this problem? How?
Hello AidanO! Can you provide some additional info about your system? And also post here your settings.
Also you have to understand that 3D games + virtualization it's pretty hard for common system. Sims 2 is an old game. But anyway...
I have a MacBook (Mid-2010) with 8GB RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce 320M video card with 256 MB, an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, and my software is Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74). I have Parallels Desktop 6 Switch to Mac Edition, and the Parallels VM that I am using is running Windows 7 Ultimate.
