I posted this in the Beta section which now is closed, but I have no answer yet about how to reduce the size of my VM. My original post was:

OK, I know there's Parallels Compressor, but my VM 3 increased its size from 10 GB to 30 GB since I moved to Parallels 4 (beta 1 and following). Now, 12 GB are full, 20 GB are free: on my Mac Pro I don't have any problem with that, on my MacPro any GB is a precious resource. I ran Parallels Compressor but I still have 25 GB overall, Parallels Image Tool just lets you increase the image size, I don't have snapshots... How can I get my 12 GB on my laptop?

Answer: Do you have expanded virtual disk format? After Parallels Compressor's work with default settings the size of the virtual disk in host should be about amount of data it contains in guest.

By right-clicking->Show Package Content you can check another content of:
    1. virtual disk bundle
    2.VM bundle

My answer: I assume I have expanded virtual disk format as one of the options of the Image Tool is to switch back to old format, does it make sense?

I would bet I didn't touch anything, on my Mac Pro the expansion was automatic. The size of winxp.hdd is 25 GB, although 12 GB are free in Windows.

So, is there a way to reduce this file or not?

Is there a way to get a clue on this from Parallels' staff?
