I'm not sure what the point of this forum is since I keep posting the same question but have yet to receive a reply. Here is another attempt: How to I find and open Windows files from Finder? I had created links to my Windows folders and placed them in the Favorites list in Finder. That worked for several months, but then the links disappeared. Now I can't even drag Windows folders or files to Finder's Favorites list, or to any place else in Finder.
Hi Linda, Please follow the steps provided below : • Reinstall Parallels Tools as per the KB article*http://kb.parallels.com/4841 • Enable Windows Application Folder option as per the KB article*http://kb.parallels.com/6861 • Enable Shared Profile: * * * * VM configure -> Options -> Sharing -> Enable Shared profile. With this option on, you can map certain Mac folders to the Windows side. Thanks, Abdul
Abdul, I appreciate the reply! The instructions for Enable Windows Application Folder option as per the KB article*http://kb.parallels.com/6861 say: "This option is available only when Parallels Tools are installed in the virtual machine and the Isolate Mac from Windows option disabled in the Security pane." Where is the "Security Pane"?
Abdul, My problem isn't accessing Windows apps. My problem is accessing Windows FILES and FOLDERS from the Mac side, from Finder. I have thousands of files. I have problems (all day, every day), whenever I ...I download a file from an Internet browser on the Mac side that I need to store in a folder on the Windows side ...I am working on a Mac file and need to save it to the Windows side ...I need to find a file that is stored on the Windows side so that I can work on it on the Mac side. As it stands now, I must open Windows every time and dig through Internet Explorer just to find a Windows file, and then I can't move it to the Mac side to work on.
Hi Linda S, Please follow the steps provided below : - Go to VM Configure -> Options -> Sharing -> Share Windows -> Enable "Access Windows folders from Mac". The above option will help you in accessing the Windows files from Mac side. Thanks, Abdul
