Well, the title might not be that clear... Here's the deal; I wanted to share my wired internet connection over wifi. Somehow, standart sharing procedures on my MBP did not work, and I had to figure sth. out. I decided to do this usin a VM, because i knew that feature was working on other OS's except MacOSX. So I created an Ubuntu, plugged a Wi-Fi dongle, linked the dongle and Ubuntu permanently and shared the WiFi connection. After i use it, I wanted to put my computer into sleep mode as always. The suprising thing was that, in first minutes after the Mac sleeps, the wifi is still broadcasting and WORKING! wow. Then I realized that, that probably was powernap. Because when i got a new notification like for an e-mail, the hotspot gets activated again for a few seconds, ( And it still works as expected ) and afterwards wifi sleeps again. So, heres my question. How can I broadcast wifi continiously while my computer sleeps-or powerNaps- i dont know which mode it really is in... How can I keep the wifi awake, or at least how can i set a time, so i can set it exp. 30 minutes after i put the computer in sleep mode, i can surf with my other devices 30 more minutes before I sleep, and then the Mac sleeps normally and closes the wifi. Too complicated? :/
